Ambewela Railway Station
Ambewela is most famous railway station of Sri Lanka and which is situated between Pattipola and Parakumpura railway stations. Ambewela is a junction and cool place. There are two farms at Ambewela and those are called New Zealand farm and Ambewela farm. And also a Highland milk powder factory is at Ambewela.
Ambewela is at on the way of Horton plains and spot of Ambewela farms and Highland milk powder factory. There are 3km to New Zealand farm from Ambewela and 1Km to Milk powder factory. There are main two ways to Ambewela. Those are from Nuwaraeliya ( from Didula junction - 13km ) and From Rendapola ( Middle of Nuwaraeliya and Welimada - 7Km ). And also a another entrance to Ambewela from Dayagama and Agarapathana via farm.

There are two beautiful and famous lakes at close to Ambewela place. One is Mepilimana ( Kandeela Lake ) and other one is Ambewela Reservoir. Ambewela reservoir is on the way to New Zealand farm and Kandeela Lake is at Mepilimana ( 6Km from Lindula Junction of Nanuoya ) which is middle of Nuwaraeliya and Ambewela. Kandeela Lake had used several movies, Tele dramas and video song such as "Anjalika" Movie.

There are two farms at Ambewela. One is Ambewela farm which is at on the way to Ambewela and New Zealand farm is at 3km from Ambewela railway station. Several cattle's, cows, rabbits, pigs, goats and seed potatoes also available in those farms. If you want to visit New Zealand farm of Ambewela, you have to buy a entrance ticket ( Rs.25./=) visit more of it. Internal cafeteria, cheese buying center and vehicle park are available and anyone haven't permission to enter to grass lands.

Ambewela railway station and closed place is very famous for local tourist. There are several restaurants and houses for reside at Ambewela, Mepilimana and Ruwaneliya places. Enjoy with Ambewela.
