18th tunnel of Pattipola

   Pattipola is highest railway station of Sri Lanka. Pattipola is upcountry region and summit level of Pattipola is high 1898m above sea level. Most darkest, narrowed and famous railway tunnel of Sri Lanka is called tunnel 18 of Pattipola. It's 3rd longest railway tunnel of Sri Lanka. This tunnel collapsed 1951 and repaired at 1981. This tunnel is goes narrowed way and one side of it is Nuwaraeliya district (Wet zone) and other side of it is Badulla district (Dry zone). Because of this zone change  tunnel is becomes very famous. Some times one side of the tunnel is rainy and other side of the tunnel is other climate. Mountain of the tunnel is called Nasdanda mountain. This tunnel is at 3km from Pattipola railway station. Most highest railway spot of Pattipola called Summit Level is at closed to 18th Tunnel.
